The Sony Ericsson T707 Elle also known simply as Elle is one of the handsets set to be released later this year. The phone is not part of the popular Walkman series but on first glance looks similar to one of the phones in the series.
The phone offers basic mobile phone features and is released to hopefully dominate in the mid range market. The Walkman version of the same device was launched earlier this year. The phone weighs only 98 g making it portable and pocket friendly. The Sony Ericsson T707 Ellehas a 2.2 inch QVGA display on the front with a smaller display on the outside. The phone is set to be released in 5 colors. They are green, orange, black, purple and blue.
Connectivity options include Quad band GSM connectivity. This makes roaming easier and more efficient. The phone also allows HSDPA 2100 connectivity which allows the user to connect to the internet. The phone also has an inbuilt Bluetooth chip with A2DP allowing quick and efficient data transfer.
Memory wise, the phone’s memory can be extended using the M2 memory card. The phone comes with a 1 GB card.
The T707 Elle has a 3.2 MP fixed focus camera. This can prove to be a disadvantage, as without autofocus clear shots can’t be taken even with 3.2 MP.
What’s most intriguing about the device is the strange round display situated at the front of the phone. It function is not fully known.
The disadvantage about the phone is that its main display can seem a bit cramped. The camera is not the best option without the autofocus feature. The features are pretty standard and don’t really stand out.
Overall the phone is a good affordable phone for anyone looking for a functional phone with decent features. For more information check out GSM Arena.

Not much apart from the fact that this will be a pretty average smartphone. But then that’s Samsung’s goal with this, as far as we can tell. They’ve been busier than normal announcing phones left, right and centre recently, and this might be judged by some to be the least impressive, but we think it’s not all that bad. Basically a slimmed, trimmed and streamlined version of the high-performance but slightly clunky Omnia phones, the Samsung Omnia Lite B7300 will not only be performing all your day-to-day smartphone tasks with ease, but also adds a little extra. That extra comes in the form of the neat TouchWiz interface that’s now appearing as standard on Samsung touchscreens, and as it’s now up to version 2.0, you can be confident it’s pretty slick. Check out this Samsung Omnia Lite review for more details.
And keep your fingers crossed that release date gets pushed slightly earlier, because we think you’re going to enjoy the Samsung Omnia Lite B7300 hits the shelves.
The Samsung S5600 is one of the new phones scheduled by Samsung to be released some time later this year. This phone is set to hopefully dominate the midrange markets. The phone comes with 80MB onboard memory which can be extended up to 16 GB using the MicroSD memory card slot. The phone does not come with a keypad and is instead equipped with a touch screen allowing the user easy access to all the media applications.
The phone has good connectivity options including Class 12 GPRS, Class 12 EDGE and HSDPA. The phone also has a Bluetooth chip with Bluetooth 2.1 software allowing close range fast data transfer. The phone can be connected to the computer using a USB cable. The phone also supports Wi-Fi connectivity allowing the user to connect to the internet easily. This allows the user to read their email, browse through web pages etc.
The Samsung S5600 comes with a 3.15 MP built in camera with an LED flash. Videos can be recorded at 15 frames per second.
The phone’s media player can play a wide variety of media formats including MP3, WMA and AAC. The phone also supports the Shazam’s find music service allowing the user to find and download their favorite media easily.

When it’s 31 degrees outside, or 88 degrees Fahrenheit for those either reading from the States, or who are over sixty (we think one of those two options might be more likely), it’s quite hard to imagine what the world is going to be like come October. The leaves will be falling from the trees, the clocks would have changed and, best of all, we won’t have pit stains down to our hips before it’s even mid-day, but apart from that, it’s hard to say what the world will be like. Except to say that some things will be very different. A week is a long time in politics, someone once said, and the same can be said of the technology world.
That’s why, when we look at the specs for the upcoming Samsung Omnia Pro – due for a launch sometime around October) – we worry slightly. It’s not that it’s not impressive, we’re just not sure how impressive it’s going to be. Have a little look to see what we mean:
Windows Mobile 6.1 (currently, although probably 6.5 by the time it comes out)
Dimensions: 113 x 58 x 16mm
3.5″ 480 x 800 pixel touchscreen display with 16m colours WVGA resolution
800 MHz processor
Slide-out QWERTY keyboard
5 megapixel camera
3.5G support
WiFi
GPS
Bluetooth
DLNA support
FM radio
microSDHC card slot (up to 32GB supported); 1GB of onboard storage.
1,500mAh battery pack
So the Samsung Omnia Pro B7610 is no slouch of a smartphone for sure. But we’re not quite willing to predict the future and say it won’t be a bit of a slouch if this phone really is not released until the autumn. Check out this fuller Samsung Omnia Pro review here, or have a look at the video below for a slightly dull preview of the phone in action (chances are this is just an Samsung Omnia Pro B7610 prototype though, so be aware things might change):

Like Rubik’s Cubes, space hoppers, 80’s music and (where we are at least) denim jackets, something else is about to make a comeback: tiny phones that don’t do much.
And we’re in full support. The Nokia 2720 Fold is a tiny clamshell phone with less impressive features than an old Skoda (something else that made a comeback, come to think of it). But what it lacks in megapixels, WiFi and GPS, the Nokia 2720 Fold more than makes up for in charm. Chances are the 1.3 megapixel camera’s going to take some pretty interesting low res shots, and we don’t doubt the range of ring tones will be delightfully retro. And it’s for these reasons and more we can see the fold being something of a surprise hit. Like the 2730 Classic blogged about below (but even more basic than that), Nokia might just find they’re getting more orders from the so-called developed world than they’re expecting for the Nokia 2720 Fold.
While not everyone might be ready and willing to ditch their iPhone in favour of one of these things, we think there could well be a swell of people ready to abandon disappointing mid-range phones to embrace a new simplicity. Read a more detailed Nokia 2720 fold review here, and chuckle away at this terrible video below. It seems Nokia spent as much on this as they hope you will on their phone. Very smart ploy of theirs we reckon…
