LG GD510 PopLG has recently announced LG GD510 Pop in order to present its customers with an affordable touch screen phone with a simple to use navigation and interface. LG GD510 Pop is one of the most compact designs that LG has ever come up with and makes the most of the phone area for the 3 inch TFT touch resistive screen, with only a thin bezel separating it from the edges of the handset. The screen is fairly large in relation to the compact 4 x 1.9 x 0.6 inches dimension of the phone and offers a resolution of 240 x 400 pixels. LG GD510 Pop has a glossy aluminum finish, which features a just a single physical button to perform various features depending on the mode of the interface. The button is illuminated in red or green in order to indicate the current function the button can perform, and allows users to conveniently do exactly what they want without getting confused with what button to press for a certain function.

While most mobile phone manufacturers are focusing on bringing sophisticated features in expensive and elaborative touch screen smartphones, LG has shown that it recognizes the needs of consumers for an affordable and low-key touch screen phone with simple and easy to use interface. And LG GD510 does not really offer a feature which makes you think it is extraordinary, except for the fact that the phone has solar panels on the battery cover, which allow users an option to charge their phones through solar energy. The phone lacks support for Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity. But the multimedia features of the phone are enough to attract users who like to listen to music or to watch movies on their mobile phones. The 8 GB internal memory can allow them just the freedom to do so.

LG GD510 Pop is expected to be an affordable touch screen phone, and according to the market research of LG, a phone like LG GD510 Pop is expected to find a good demand in international markets.

Samsung Omnia Pro B7320Samsung has improved the Omnia Pro B7320 smartphone by announcing the release of the Omnia Pro B73330, which is expected to offer a far richer user experience than its predecessors and will be appealing to the business professionals with a greater intensity. The phone offers a number of differences as compared to the earlier released Pro B7330.

• Samsung Omnia Pro B7330 has a larger screen size of 2.62” of TFT as compared to the 2.4” TFT of Omnia Pro B7320.

• The larger Omnia Pro B7330 screen bears a slightly improved resolution with 320 x 320 pixels as compared to its predecessor.

• The Omnia Pro B7330 is a much improved set as far as physical attributes are concerned. The dimensions of the B7330 are 114.9 x 59 x 10.8 mm as compared to the 118 x 59.8 x 12.6 mm of the B7320. This means that the new handset is shorter and thinner than its predecessor, despite the larger screen and the maintained presence of the QWERTY keypad on the front. Furthermore, the Omnia Pro B7330 is also slightly lighter than the B7320, that is 107 grams as compared to 110 grams.

• The Omnia Pro B7330 comes preinstalled with the latest Windows Mobile 6.5. The Pro B7320 featured a Windows Mobile 6.1 version, which was allowed to upgrade to the latest version as well.

• The assisted GPS feature appears in the Omnia Pro B7330.

Samsung Omnia Pro B7330• The internal memory of Omnia Pro B7330 is 270 MB as compared to the 10 MB offered in the Omnia Pro B7320.

• The Omnia Pro B7330 has an additional 3G network protocol support for HSUPA, which brings its download speed to 7.2 MBps and upload speed to 2 MBps. This feature was absent in the Pro B7320.

Although there are a few differences between the Pro B7330 and the earlier released Pro B7320, but most of the features remain the same. Omnia Pro B7330 is expected to bring a rich internet experience to its user as well, and will be a relatively affordable smartphone.

Samsung Genio TXTOf the two newly announced smartphones by Samsung, the Genio TXT is certainly the simpler one, both in design and features. Although the convenience factor is to be judged by every user personally, since convenience in using mobile phones, among other things, can be relative. But as far as the design and dimensions are concerned, it can be said with certainty that people who like slim and light phones will find Samsung Genio TXT much more convenient than its bulky sister, Genio Pro. Genio TXT is not a slider phone like the Genio Pro, which makes it strikingly thinner and lighter than its counterpart. Although the Genio TXT features a QWERTY keypad on the front, in the manner of a BlackBerry, the phone is amazingly light and slim, and weighs only 94 grams, while is only 9 mm thick as compared to the 15 mm thickness of Genio Pro. The set also features a 2.0 mega pixel camera, FM Radio and a 3.5 mm audio jack.

At the same time, Genio TXT is also being criticized for its low resolution and small screen, and the small size of keys on the keypad, which can actually kill the purpose of taking up all the space on the face of the phone. You can adjust to that once you get used to the phone, but the 2.2” TFT touch screen is what you really have to be prepared for if you make up your mind to purchase the Genio TXT when it is released. But as the set is primarily meant for text messaging, and if you are such a type, then the screen should not bother you too much.

Although the price for Genio TXT has not been announced yet, but it is expected to be a budget phone, and will prove to be a very convenient option for those who would be uncomfortable with the expected price range of Genio Pro. Samsung Genio TXT is a simple handset, but offers many conveniences at the same time including access to social networking sites and the updates from them which is why it would be a good decision to get the Samsung Genio TXT on contract, or even on Pay As You Go.

Vodafone 360 M1Vodafone 360 M1 will be the second release to feature the Vodafone 360 services experience. The Samsung-built Vodafone 360 M1 is not expected to show off as illustrious and dazzling features as its older sister H1 does, but M1 has some difference in its dimensions. The M1 is shorter and much lighter than the H1, but shockingly, it is slightly thicker than the H1, which gives the potential users a mixed feeling when they turn to the M1 as a better alternative to the H1 as far as physical features are concerned. There are hardly any differences in the design from what we have seen so far and the set is almost a slightly smaller replica of the H1. However, the fundamental difference that lies in the quality of both the sets is in their screen. Vodafone 360 M1 has a smaller 3.2” inch skin, which is expected, but it is TFT and does not feature the multi touch sensitivity.

Furthermore, the internal memory of the M1 is 1 GB, which is 15 GB short of what the H1 offers. In addition to that, the camera featured in the Vodafone 360 M1 is 3.2 mega pixels with 8 digital zoon, which is also a bit lower in quality to the 5.0 mega pixel camera featured in the H1 handset. However, both the handsets are equipped with the same software, and both feature the Vodafone 360 experience. With these specifications, it clearly shows that the Vodafone 360 M1 will be much lower in price than the first release H1, and will offer the Vodafone 360 fans an opportunity to benefit from the new user experience platform on a budget. However, another feature that they won’t find in the M1 is the Wi-Fi connectivity support, but the 3G and Bluetooth support is there.

Apart from that, the features of the Vodafone 360 M1 include built-in assisted GPS and maps, USB support, 3.5 mm audio jack and speakerphone. Watch this space for all the great Vodafone 360 M1 deals as they pop up.

Sony Ericsson Xperia PurenessThe Sony Ericsson Xperia Pureness was unveiled in September (for more information, check out some more Sony Ericsson Xperia Pureness Reviews here). We got our hands on it, so let’s have a look at it.

The most quirky part of the phone is the display. The display is clearly what you expect from Sony Ericsson – top class resolution and really crisp. However, the best part is that the display itself is transparent. It feels more like looking through a tinted glass, expect that this ‘glass’ is capable of displaying text, videos, images and, surprisingly, even games. The only disadvantage that we could think about of the display is the fact that there are no colours, though this didn’t seem like too much of a big issue for us.

As far as the looks of the phone are concerned, the other parts of the phone consists of a glossy black keypad. The keypad is touch – sensitive and light up when you press one of the buttons. Right under the display are the call button, the center and the cancel buttons. The volume increase and volume reduce buttons are located on either side of these 3 keys. When looking at the side, the charger port is present, as is the SIM card slot. The back of the phone reveals the behind of the display as well as the power button, which is quite small.

Other than the quirky display and the cool keypad, the other things which are interesting about the phone are the battery and the memory storage. The phone has an internal memory of just 100 MB, but it can be expanded to 2 GB, which should be more than enough to store about 500 MP3 songs. The phone’s battery is, again, quirky in that it is a built – in battery. The reason for this could possibly be that SE wanted to avoid using a battery cover!

The phone is set to be released in November this year for 640 pounds but no word yet about the Pureness on contract.

Samsung S7550 Blue EarthThere have been calls from many spheres of life for us to be more green and caring for the environment. Samsung has given us a chance to do all this with the unveiling of the Samsung Blue Earth, which is a touch screen phone which has a solar panel at the back of the phone to enable you to charge the phone using sunlight. The phone was just a concept in CES 2009 and Samsung officials were mentioning about how this phone showed their commitment to keeping the earth safe.

The phone, which resembles a shiny blue pebble, is powered fully by solar and is made fully from recycled plastics known as PCM. PCM is obtained from water bottles which have been used and thrown away. The Eco mode present in this phone enables the phone to use less energy by way of adjusting the brightness of the screen, switching off Bluetooth as well as the backlight. A lot of people were a bit hesitant with regard to the solar powered battery, but Samsung have laid all that to rest with the announcement that the phone will have a talktime of about 4 hours and a standby time of about 10 – 14 hours. The phone also comes with a charger which uses up only 0.3 watts, making it a real energy – saving item.

The phone has a pedometer built in which enables you to calculate the difference in carbon footprint between walking to a place and driving there and the amount of carbon footprints that you have saved by walking to the place. The phone doesn’t have any beryllium and phthalates. The phone makes use of a TouchWiz user interface, which is pretty much the standard in most Samsung phones. Samsung haven’t released any details with regard to pricing or release date, but we expect it to be released in the last quarter of this year.

The Samsung Blue Earth Reviews have been good, so we are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the phone. Until that time be sure to keep your eyes open for Samsung Blue Earth deals.

Nokia X3The Nokia X3 is one of the more recent phones to have been unveiled by Nokia during the Nokia World 2009. The phone will be released in the 4th quarter of 2009, perhaps in time for Christmas. Nokia X3 Reviews have been good, so let’s check out whether the phone actually lives up to its hype.

The large variety of phones that Nokia have is testament to the fact that Nokia have a phone for all segments of the market. In the X3, they have a very sleek phone with all the capabilities you could possibly expect of a phone of this price – range. The phone is about 14 mm thick and weighs in at 103 grams, making it easy to carry around in your pocket.

The TFT screen of the phone is 2.2 inches long and has a resolution of 240×320 pixels and is capable of displaying a maximum of 256k colours. The phone supports polyphonic as well as MP3 ringtones. The X3 has a 3.2 megapixel camera which is capable of capturing pictures with a maximum resolution of 2048×1536 pixels. There is an LED flash as well, enabling you to take pictures even in low light. Video recording is possible in QVGA quality @ 15 fps.

The music player is capable of playing a multitude of formats, which include MP3, WMA and AAC. MP4 and 3GP videos are supported. A stereo radio is also provided in the phone for those of you who like to listen to your favourite radio stations on the go.

On first looks, the X3 seems to be a low – cost version of the X6 due to the similar looks. However, the differences between the phone couldn’t be more stark when looking at the feature set of both the phones. There is a large number of functions in the phone, which makes it really good value for money and a phone which will be highly sought out in the market which is why there will be so many great Nokia X3 contracts to choose from as all the phone dealers compete for your custom,.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10While Sony-Ericsson remained mum about its release for now, more leaks have been tipped to consumers expecting an addition to the smartphone market. A picture of the handset here and there, talks in the mobile phone industry about Sony Ericsson gearing for its release later this year or early in 2010, and continuing buzz about improved features. Who can refute that something is indeed cooking at the company’s lab?

Dubbed as the Xperia X3, pictures and talks of the new android handset from Sony Ericsson signaled an impending release of the device. With its specifications already known to many, still more are thrilled of any improvement to its 1GHz Snapdragon processor and four-inch widescreen display. Such features tipped to consumers could mean that Xperia X3 would be the topmost specified android handset among its long-ago and recently released competition.

Other specifications expected would be the 8megapixel camera boasting of the Cybershot making, a strong feature that attracts customers. Existing smartphone and mid-range units from Sony Ericsson are known to have great camera features, so Xperia X3 is expected to top them all and the rest of the smartphones in the market today. That is, when it comes to using handsets for picture-taking.

The new packaging of this android is expected to enliven the market shares of Sony Ericsson which is largely perceived as declining amid stiff competition and poor sales.

While the United Kingdom awaits announcement of its release, the buzz about Xperia X3 seem to be generating wider interest by the day. Not to be left out are “tipster’s projections” about Sony Ericsson’s preparations for the unveiling of its new unit. Even a November unveiling has been talked about and tweeted as well. If so, then it should make a good bite to the Christmas rush.

Nokia have always been the type of company who likes to dominate whatever segment of the mobile phone market that it is in and looks like they are looking towards dominating the laptop market as well with the introduction of the Nokia Booklet 3G, which was unveiled via a press release at Nokia Conversations.

Rude people might want to call it a fancy netbook, considering the fact that it has a 10.1 inch screen and an Atom processor, but the resolution of the screen is much better than normal laptops or netbooks. Another difference between this netbook and other ones is that it supports integrated 3G wireless and you can even use your data SIM directly with the netbook.

The netbook will be using the new Microsoft Windows 7 as its operating system, which is not something you’d normally see in a netbook. It also comes with integrated A-GPS and has the Nokia Ovi Maps pre – installed with the netbook.

Video output is redefined with the HDMI output. The netbook has an estimated battery life of 12 hours, which is useful as it will be able to keep you company during long journeys. The netbook also has Wi-Fi connectivity as well as Bluetooth connectivity. It is just 2 cm thin (.78 inch) and the aluminium body weighs only 2.7 lb, which is posh, understated and should make Nokia fans bristle with delight – i.e. Nokia fans who want a miniature laptop.

Nokia have also released a nice promotional video to coincide with the announcement of the Nokia Booklet 3G. Nokia Booklet 3G Reviews have revealed the pricing, which is set to be about £520, but you may be able to get it cheaper on contract with broadband providers, which is good news for all you Nokia fans out there. Make sure you do check out the Nokia Booklet 3G contracts on offer when it is released.
